Our Humble Honey
Beginnings and Beyond
Beginnings and Beyond
Cox Honeyland has been crafting pure honey as a family tradition for over a hundred years.
Our Natural Honey Origins
More than 100 years ago, our story began in the small farming community of St. George, Utah with Henderson Cox. After nearly three decades of farming in St. George, Marion Cox moved to Cache Valley where he continued to raise honey bees and harvest honey. Our first warehouse for honey production was built in Providence, Utah and continued operation there for a number of years.
When Duane purchased the bees from his father to continue the family tradition of beekeeping and honey production in 1965, he set out to build a new warehouse on the southern outskirts of Logan, Utah. Shortly after building this warehouse, Cox Honeyland opened our year-round gift shop. Our local family business has continued to flourish here in beautiful Cache Valley.
The “Bee”-hind the Scenes
Since our business relies on honeybees and natural processes, we do our best to prioritize sustainable practices and put nature first. This is why we allow Cox Honeyland customers to bring in their own containers to fill with our pure, raw honey. Reusing honey containers allows you to save money and help the environment. At Cox Honeyland, we pride ourselves on producing natural honey with no additives or preservatives. Our high-quality pure, raw honey is never pasteurized or adulterated. These practices allow us to provide natural honey and unique honey products, gift baskets and other gourmet products in our gift shop.
Present Day Pure Honey Family Business
When we first opened our gift shop, we sold our well-loved creamed honey and pure raw honey. Our gift shop has expanded, however, to add more options including pure and flavored honey-based gifts including gourmet food items, gift baskets, body care and lotion, and much more. With a variety of honey-based gifts, we have options that fit your gift needs for almost any special occasion. Our gifts can be customized for occasions such as weddings, graduations, birthdays, and more. We are proud to be a family-owned, local business that provides natural honey products in beautiful Cache Valley.
The Next Generation
Now, Cox Honeyland is in its fourth generation with Maleesa, Camille, Michelle, and Darren all involved in the process, from the honey production to managing the gift store and wholesale operations. From its humble beginnings more than 100 years ago in St. George, Cox Honeyland has become a true family business with the sons and daughters involved in every aspect of the natural honey production process, sweetening people’s lives one drop of pure honey at a time.
